Jamie's Room

The nursery isn't done yet, but I already have a collection of stuff!

P.S. I'm 23 weeks, so only 17 weeks until we meet our little guy. I tried to make the pictures look nice, but I can't help but feel that some of them have that "ebay" look to them. Oh, well.

Here is the nursery so far. We still need carpeting and the shelves need to be installed in the closet.

I caved and bought this fleece suit from Old Navy. He'll need something to keep him warm in that cold January weather.

I found some old baby blankets at my parents' house a few weekends ago, and I really like the dinosaur pjs, flight school tshirt and onesie. A better picture of the dinosaur pjs are below.

How awesome is this outfit? I think it's for around 3-6 months, and I love the frog in the pocket.

I found this Fisher Price monitor set on Craigslist last week. Scott and I tested them out, and they work perfectly.

This is a sweater that's actually older than me: it was made for my brother, Jonathan, when he was a baby. And here's a better look at those dinosaur pjs. I'm a big fan of pjs; I predict that Jamie and I will be spending a lot of time wearing pjs around the house.

And lastly, we have this little lion. The day after I found out I was pregnant, I bought him. I just thought he was adorable and it was nice to have some kind of baby item, to make the pregnancy feel more real.

I can't wait to post more pictures, so stay tuned!

Wedded Bliss.

Scott and I had our wedding on Saturday. It was one of the best days of my life. The weather was perfect, our friends and family were there, the cake was delicious...

I couldn't have asked for a better day.

21 weeks!

Scott took a picture of me outside after lunch. I'm so proud of my bump and the little baby who likes to kick me.

Wow.

Sometimes it just hits me, and I think "I'm going to be a Mom."

Wow.

It's the best feeling in the world and I can't describe it better than that.

Prenatal classes!

I'm pretty excited -- I just registered for several prenatal classes at my hospital. I have Labor Basics and Baby Basics next month, and in November, Breastfeeding, For Baby's Sake (baby proofing and whatnot), and Safe Ride (everything car seat related). In December, we'll take a hospital birthing tour.

I may look into some other classes, too. There's so much out there.

Only 20 weeks to go!

It's been a busy few weeks!

Scott and I spent the week before Labor Day in the Outer banks in North Carolina. And now, we're getting some work done on our house, which means that in another week or so we'll have a room for the nursery. It's a crazy process. Our townhouse has two bedrooms, but both are master size. So, we did the most logical thing and decided to split the one bedroom into two separate rooms. I'm excited about the end result, but for now, it means a lot of dust and noise during the day.

Speaking of the nursery, I'm still not decided on what theme we'll be going with. Part of me loves Winnie the Pooh (and I've already fallen in love with the travel system), but Scott seems to want a monkey theme. Maybe a mix? I have no idea.

The pregnancy is going GREAT so far. I'm eating more (finally), actually gaining weight, and feeling more kicks. We got to see Baby on Tuesday, at the *big* ultrasound. And of course, we found out the gender. Unfortunately, I'm not ready to share that secret with the world just yet, but the world will know soon enough. Most importantly, Baby is healthy and doing well.

I'm also spending a good deal of time planning my wedding! September 19th is the big day (nearly a week left to go!), and we're very excited. I can't believe it's so close. I'm pretty happy that it's happening in September, because I really love fall. The crisp air, the leaves changing, apple cider, Halloween around the corner.........it's a good time of year.
